        Verdict

        Lytham and Laser Blazer are similar in that they both finished runner-up over 1m4f here on their latest starts. Both look capable of winning off their current marks and the former had Escape Artist well behind last time. The latter has since gone close over a shorter trip at this track and should be thereabouts, but a chance is taken on SPARTAN SPIRIT. He hasn't raced since finishing a promising third on his handicap debut at Warwick last May but he's Jimmy Fortune's only ride on the card and it will be no surprise to see him go close in this company on his return.
