In depth

Verdict

Ndola is the one to beat, with Revolve, Larad, Silver Court, Boogie Magic and Sorbiesharry all out to stop the good thing from following up. Take Ndola out of this and the race has a wide-open look to it, but the inclusion of Barney Curley's charge means that the rest have a job on to land the spoils. The seven-year-old landed a punt for the trainer here a fortnight ago, sporting a first-time visor in the process over 12 furlongs. He was given an extremely confident ride by Jamie Spencer, and is now partnered by Tom Queally who was on board when the gelding also landed a touch at Southwell last year. The drop back in trip today is not a worry, and he should easily follow up. Revolve has been in good form of late, winning his last two starts, at Lingfield and more recently over the course-and-distance, but that last race was run in a very slow time, and he will do well to repel the charge of the selection, as will Larad who is consistent but always finds one too good due to his lack of finishing pace. Silver Court was put in his place by the long odds-on Just Observing at Folkestone and pays his first visit here. He looks nothing special though and will need to improve, as will the likes of Miss Glory Be and Sorbiesharry to trouble Ndola who can help to subsidise his training fee yet again.
