In depth

Verdict

PUNCTUATION stands out of those with racecourse experience. Andrew Balding’s colt just missed out over course and distance on last month’s debut with a subsequent winner back in fourth and looks the one to beat on that form. Silver Desert is a likely improver while Atlantic Crossing steps up from 6f on his first outing since last summer but a couple of Godolphin newcomers look bigger threats. Both are fitted with headgear and Pledge Of Peace has been gelded but stablemate Cigoli cost 1.1 million guineas as a yearling and is a brother to a winner from the family of the high-class Midday. Any strong support in the betting for the latter could prove significant.
