In depth

Verdict

The Road Home has not won in 10 starts over fences but this will be the first time he's raced at this lowly level and he's run well here in the past. Casimir Du Clos was in fine form in the autumn, scoring over hurdles and fences, and had a run in a jumpers' bumper at Newcastle on Friday. OLD JEWRY has never won but wasn't beaten far in his only start over fences in September and over timber at Carlisle last week where a last-flight mistake could have cost him the race. Eagle Ridge hasn't shown enough in four starts over fences to justify support, though he's had wind surgery since his last run, while winning point-to-pointer Brandy Port has shown nothing under Rules.
