Verdict
Not the most competitive of events, with the weights headed by Mount Prague, who will have to turn in a personal best if he is to win off this mark. Flash Gordon, who has been difficult to train, is a free going sort and this course should suit his style of running. He has gone well fresh in the past, but he too will have to step up on anything he has shown to date if he is to defy his rating. Joyeux Royal looks to have enough on his plate for what he has achieved, while Wise King is very much on the downgrade nowadays. Needwood Lion is worthy of respect, but he will not get his own way up front with the headstrong Flash Gordon in opposition. A chance is taken with Another Raleagh, who still had every chance when getting the last all wrong at Huntingdon on his latest outing. He is a consistent sort, who is more likely to run his race than some of his rivals.
