Verdict

DANNY KIRWAN has always looked the type to make a better chaser than hurdler and made a promising start when runner-up to Annual Invictus at Cheltenham. Sebastopol would surely have won here last month had he not fallen at the last while Mister Coffey wasn’t beaten far behind a subsequent winner when a warm favourite at Newbury and should strip fitter today, though it’s no surprise that Nico de Boinville sticks with Bothwell Bridge who jumped for fun at Sandown. Iconic Muddle was progressive in the spring but faces race-fit rivals and Your Darling couldn’t cope with an 8lb rise at Aintree. Both Killer Kane and Jacamar have a bit to find on what they’ve shown so far.
