      Verdict

      Katy Spirit dead-heated for first place with Indian Affair over track and trip a fortnight ago. Dropping down a grade for this, she should confirm running with Forceful Flame and Claude Greenwood and go close again but DESERT DONKEY is just preferred. The latter makes his handicap debut having been beaten only a short-head at Lingfield last time, with Jimmy Elder well beaten, and further progress is expected from Andrew Balding's charge. Roland scored at Wolverhampton before a below-par effort on the Fibresand and Tregereth had Iwilsayzisonlyonce behind when third over the minimum trip on her latest start.
