In depth
Verdict
A good way to start the card and this looks sure to be a competitive heat. Almnadia has been a revelation of late and is holding her form well. Her fillies allowance reduces her penalty to just a 3lb disadvantage at the weights and she should be capable of filling a place at least if she runs up to form. However, there are a few imponderables and siding with a lesser exposed type could be the best policy. Nutley King comes here with good form to his name from the Flat in Ireland and is an interesting contender on his debut for the champion trainer. Ken's Dream is another to consider after his eye-catching hurdles bow at Huntingdon. An over enthusiastic leap two-out put paid to his chances on that occasion but he should be a lot wiser this time around. Indien Royal should also be noted in the betting on his first run for Paul Nicholls and a move for him would be significant. However, our selection goes to former Ballydoyle inmate, Cape Canaveral, who was given a very patient introduction last time. The drop back in trip should not be a problem for him and Phillip Hide can go one better aboard the son of Sadler's Wells this time around.
