In depth
Verdict
An interesting contest with a number of promising and lightly raced individuals in opposition. King Bee stepped up on previous efforts to score at Ascot last month but had his limitations exposed at Haydock next time and looks vulnerable under a penalty. Newcomer Lord Illusion makes plenty of appeal on breeding and has the services of A P McCoy so has to be respected while former point-to-point winner Bolt Action should be noted in the exchanges on his hurdling bow. Brewster is improving with experience and can reach a place but the vote goes to Liberdal from the powerful yard of Guillaume Macaire. The son of Cadoudal will handle the testing conditions and has already shown useful form in France so looks worth chancing to make a winning British debut.
