In depth
Verdict
Il Cavaliere showed signs of a revival at Kempton two starts ago before unseating his jockey at the same track last time and has to be respected but preference is for Narwhal, who gets the verdict over Nathos. The last mentioned lost no caste in defeat behind Grave Doubts at Wincanton last time and has to be respected along with the reappearing Gin Palace, who represents the in-form stable of Gary Moore. The Venetia Williams pair, Sonevafushi and Crocadee, are others worthy of a mention, along with the lightly raced Lik Wood Power but for the vote we stick with Narwhal. Nick Gifford's horses could not be in better form, remains unexposed after just five starts and is fairly treated off just a 6lb higher mark than when scoring at Sandown last time.
