      Verdict

NEWTOWN CROSS downed tools in soft ground at Chepstow last time but had been winning on the all-weather before that. A victory over course and distance was followed by a win at Lingfield and he's only 3lb higher back on this surface so should go in again. Arashi is closely matched with the latter on running at this track and should be in the mix once again while Montjess is another usually thereabouts in similar contests. Bramshill Lass is capable of getting involved on her day and beat Jezza over track and trip in October and Guards Chapel at Lingfield more recently.
