In depth

Verdict

Weet Yer Tern gets a tentative vote over the likes of Magic Amigo, Fantasy Crusader and Kathleen Kennet to name but a few. This is for horses rated 46-50 which says it all really, and bets should be kept to the minimum. Weet Yer Tern has three things in his favour at least here though-he is a course winner, has a high draw and can benefit from the services of Ryan Moore, so has more chance than most. In addition he was entitled to need his reappearance at Beverley, having been off for three months, so in the circumstances did well to finish fourth. He gets the vote over a moderate bunch including Magic Amigo, whose two career victories have both been on testing ground on Turf. Like a few of these, he has tumbled down the weights as his form has taken a nosedive, and at least he has a good draw. Fantasy Crusader won over a mile here in June, but has been out of luck since. He is a past course-and-distance winner, while Kathleen Kennet in contrast is still searching for her first win, but has gone close here in the past. The pin comes down on Weet Yer Tern.
