Verdict

Whitehall has been raised a further 4lb for finishing second at Sandown and is now 10lb higher than when scoring at Nottingham in June. The handicapper has taken no chances with Croque Monsieur and raised the latter 11lb for an easy success at Chelmsford but Bombastic won off a similar mark at Haydock back in May. Quality Seeker may figure back over his winning trip today but Sharg was still well beaten when runner-up at Salisbury. KING’S SLIPPER was narrowly beaten when caught close home at the latter track a fortnight ago. Clive Cox’ colt makes his all-weather debut and gets the vote to go one better in this.
