    Verdict

    AFRICAN JAZZ was stepped up to 1m6f at Haydock for his handicap debut and found only one too good. A couple of subsequent winners have come out of the race and further progress is expected from Charlie Appleby’s charge over this extra distance. He gets the nod with both Zilara and Sassie posting poor efforts on their respective latest starts having won over 1m4f earlier this year while Las Lomas Blanca has yet to threaten.
