Verdict

Universal is not the most reliable but has claims if at his best and a literal reading of Tepmokea's third to the high-class Planteur at Lingfield gives Elaine Burke's charge every chance. Cry Fury also has the ability to land this but hasn't raced since June last year, his only outing of the season. SPIFER beat Greylami, a previous winner of this contest, a shade more cosily than the narrow margin would suggest over track and trip in January. His latest defeat by Robin Hoods Bay is working out well and Marco Botti's charge gets the nod on that form. Hanoverian Baron and Buckland should both give a good account and a big run is also expected from the bottom weight Suffice given he was declared for a much easier race during the week but didn't take part.
