In depth

Verdict

GREAT JONES won a Tramore bumper in a canter in August then ran poorly at Naas. He's bred for sprinting but wouldn't be hurdling with the champion trainer without good reason and can make a winning start. Ardboe Abbey couldn't handle heavy ground at Gowran but his earlier form puts him in the picture, a remark that also applies to Alexander Leaving who found 2m4f stretching his stamina at Tipperary. Captain Lob has also done better over this trip but it's Dale Street who should provide the maIn threat as he broke a blood vessel when last seen at Thurles in November after several smart performances against useful rivals.
