In depth

BLAZING TEMPO looks the one to beat in this. Last year's Galway Plate heroine could only manage third behind this year's subsequent Plate winner Bob Lingo at Killarney last time but she can return to winning ways in this grade. Definite Class is mostly consistent but has a bit to find on today's terms with both Shabra Charity and Spring Hawk. Annie Other beat the latter over these hurdles last September however and, arriving on the back of a win over fences at Wexford in July, she's another who should be thereabouts.

Annie Other (IRE) 11-8 (11-7) Soon chased leaders, close up in 2nd 4 out, led from 2 out, soon clear, stayed on well, comfortably, won at Wexford 2m 3f beg chs gf in Jul beating Carrig Cottage (11-2) by 9l, 15 ran.

Blazing Tempo (IRE) 8-1 (10-11) Chased leaders in moderate 3rd, 4th after 8th, ridden in 5th and no impression before 3 out, kept on one pace into 3rd last, 3rd of 15, 7l behind Bob Lingo (10-6) at Killarney 2m 6f hcp hdl 0-140 sft in Aug.

Definite Class (IRE) 10-3 (10-13) Chased leaders, 5th halfway, 8th 4 out, ridden in moderate 7th entering straight, kept on closing stages to 3rd, 3rd of 11, 8l behind Pride Of The Artic (10-13) at Galway 2m 6f chs sft in Jul.

Shabra Charity (IRE) 12-1 (10-3) Soon tracked leaders, challenged and on terms 3 out, headed after next, no impression and kept on same pace from last, 3rd of 12, 5l behind Caim Hill (10-13) at Bellewstown 2m 4f hcp hdl in Aug.

Ms Bliss (IRE) 7-1 (10-13) Always prominent, bad mistake 4 out, in front next, stayed on well under pressure from before last, won at Down Royal 2m mdn hdl gs in Aug beating Landenstown Lady (10-6) by 1 3/4l, 20 ran.

Spring Hawk (IRE) 12-1 (11-0) Tracked leaders, no impression under pressure in 3rd from 2 out, kept on run-in, 3rd of 9, 8l behind Prince Of Fire (11-12) at Down Royal 2m hdl gs in Aug.

Tullydonnell Flyer (IRE) 14-1 (10-11) Soon towards rear, no impression from 4 out, 8th of 12, well behind Uponthe Hoof (11-4) at Bellewstown 3m mdn hdl in Aug.

Fantastic Gold 20-1 (11-0) Always in rear, trailing when mistake 2 out, fell last, in a race won by Osana (11-2) at Ballinrobe 2m 1f chs hvy in Aug, 7 ran.
