In depth

Verdict

Homme D'un Soir earned an official rating of 126 after impressing at Down Royal in March where he easily saw off an odds-on chance. Jordan Gainford's claim reduces his burden but he still has to concede weight to THE GETAWAY STAR and that could prove beyond him. Declan Queally's mare ran a superb race when runner-up to subsequent Grade 1 winner Black Tears in a Punchestown Grade 3 and was nowhere near her best when well beaten behind the latter on very heavy ground at Limerick. Berkshire Royal was useful on the Flat in the UK and made his debut for Willie Mullins in last year's Supreme Novices' at Cheltenham. He hasn't run subsequently but that's rarely a problem for one from his yard.
