Verdict

Gary Halpin rode his first winner for the in-form John Oxx when partnering RAYNA at Leopardstown last week. The fillies' subsequent penalty takes her onto a huge weight but her young rider's claim reduces the burden and she can complete a hat-trick. Botanical Lady is a progressive filly who has improved with each start but she's taking a big leap in distance here after finishing runner-up over a mile at Bellewstown though she was staying on strongly at the finish. Gold Focus makes her handicap debut and doesn't look to have done enough to gain her first success though Jim Bolger has won numerous races with her type in the past. Celtic Artisan is also having his first run out of maiden company and though runner-up at Tramore last time he was beaten 12l and the winner has been well beaten subsequently.
