Verdict
Venetia Williams saddles Meggies Beau who failed to complete on his only start at this season at Taunton in December. He fell at the seventh when in with every chance and has useful form last season so may be a lively outsider. What A Man is another to have on the shortlist having finished a good third to Too Forward at Folkestone in a Beginners¿ Chase. He could only stay on at one pace that day, giving the impression that today¿s shorter trip would suit. The selection however is Motcombe, trained by Robert Alner. He ran a sound race in defeat at Folkestone last time behind Kittenkat, finishing second. Kittenkat was an unlucky loser on Monday, beaten only a short head at Exeter after making a bad mistake at the third last and only beaten a short head. Motcombe is improving as the season goes on and this may be his day.
