In depth
Verdict
Ferdy Murphy has already ensured that King Of Confusion knows his way around Newcastle and his charge gets the nod over Narciso, Dance Party and Bollin Thomas, who make up the main body of the opposition. The last named has run some fair races in defeat since switching to hurdles and should be capable of picking up a small race somewhere along the line. He is weighted to reverse recent form with Dance Party and has solid each-way claims today. As does Narciso, who gained some just reward when wining a similar contest at Wetherby at the start of last month. However, he, like Dance Party, picks up a 7lb penalty today and his task is not an easy one. Therefore, we switch our attention to King Of Confusion, who showed an aptitude for the game on his hurdles debut before tiring in the closing stages. The predicted ground will not be a problem for this son of Topanoora and, with drop in trip also not expected to inconvenience him, King Of Confusion has a solid chance of further boosting the haul from Murphy's recent spell of good form.
