Verdict
With some very poor and unreliable sorts taking part we will side with Kitimat, who does at least have recent winning form, Kingsfold Freddie and Freteval are given as the main dangers. Rob Buckler's gelding may not have beaten much when successful at Fontwell in January but compared to what the others in the field have achieved it rates as decent form. Kitimat hasn't been beaten far in two outings since and looks the safest proposition here. Kingsfold Freddie is a shade inconsistent but did run well when second behind Caribbean Cove at Warwick in May. He's making his chasing debut today and is sure to have been well schooled by his talented handler. Freteval comes into the reckoning here on his recent third behind Thalys at Hereford, although there is no guarantee he will run two races alike. With most of the others capable of disappointing supporters Kitimat, by process of elimination, is given the nod.
