CLARENDON CROSS never figured in the Chesham on soft going at Ascot last month but had earlier finished third at Haydock. The winner has subsequently placed in Group 2 races and the Hannon colt gets the nod back on a faster surface. Soft Whisper made a promising debut at Salisbury and is preferred to stablemate Raajil while Cloudbridge also represents Godolphin and Ryan Moore partners the half-brother to a 7f winner. The selection’s stablemate River Alwen is a €145,000 purchase with Thunderstone making more appeal than Pool Bar Lady of the remainder.
