Punters can do worse than focus on the jockeys here which means that Glencal and Ken's Girl both make a shortlist that is completed by Lordship; KEN'S GIRL gets the nod. Prince Golan, Glencal and Flying Flute were only separated by half a length in a similar contest at the end of September and consequently there's little to choose between them here. Glencal was partnered by a 5lb claimer on that occasion so has work to do but she may benefit by being partnered by David Probert who is vying with William Buick for the apprentice title. Lordship was back in sixth in that contest and has a handy swing in the weights with those that finished in front of him and he has gone well for today's jockey in the past. Ken's Girl hasn't been sighted since the beginning of August when finishing fourth of nine at Chepstow over a mile. She's proved rather frustrating to date having finished second in three of her twelve starts but she handles these conditions and runs well with time between her races. She has the assistance of the promising Beuzelin in the saddle and represents the yard that took this prize last year. Ken's Girl can follow suit.
