Verdict

TIMES VITAL may possibly provide a little in the way of value in a hugely competitive event in which Torphichen and King O' The Gypsies may have more than their share of the market. The selection has been raised by 6lbs for his half length win in a competitive Class 4 contest at Newbury. This does represent a step up in class but there was a lot to like about his performance in Berkshire and he should be able to hold his own here. King O' The Gypsies was a talking horse earlier in the season, connections have been patient and may well be proved right. It would be no surprise were his supporters to pile in again, particularly now that Dettori takes the ride. Moonquake has to put a poor run behind him whilst Kossack and Goodwood Starlight will also need to fare better than they did in defeat at Yarmouth and Folkestone which is by no means beyond the realms of possibility. Secret Dancer has talent but is from a yard that's struggling and Kingdom Of Fife and Electrolyser are feared more as a result. Few trainers are in better form than Michael Jarvis and we should hear more about Torphichen in the fullness of time. He's likely to be short enough though and did have quite a hard race at Ayr so we'll desert him and side with Times Vital.
