This is a hot-looking maiden featuring several expensive and well-bred purchases. Godolphin won it in 2012 and the boys in blue are doubly represented this year. William Buick rides Charlie Appleby's Dubawi colt First Nation, who is a half-brother to several useful winners. King's Shadow was a $200,000 yearling and is out of a Grade 1 winner in the States. Roger Varian's Fujaira Bridge cost 310,000gns and probably came up against a smart prospect last time at Haydock while Red Label shaped nicely under tender handling at Newmarket last month. AZAM (NAP), a 260,000gns half-brother to the useful Playful Sound, made an eye-catching debut at HQ last month when meeting trouble in-running. He can get off the mark with that experience under his belt, though it's interesting that the well-bred Lawman filly Star Of Doha is pitched in first time against the boys given her yard won this last year.
