    Verdict

The return to five furlongs should suit MONSIEUR JOE and he is preferred to Amitola, Racy and Kanaf in a quality sprint handicap. Walter Swinburn's Choisir colt ran with credit behind Jack My Boy at Newmarket on his first try at six furlongs, especially as he seemed to stumble just as he was hitting top gear. The ground today should be ideal and he will be staying on well up the stiffish finish. Living It Large has been holding his form well in Yorkshire this year and another win shouldn't be far away for this lad who was prolific at two, Amitola was tried in Listed company at Newmarket last October and is not discounted on this return to action despite the slight worry over the trip, whilst Racy finished a place ahead of the selection last time but he has always looked a proper six furlong horse. Secret Millionaire wasn't disgraced behind Hamish McGonagall at York, Kanaf is unexposed and looks fairly handicapped on a mark of 81, whilst Tillys Tale needs to forget a rare poor run at York last month. An open sprint handicap then but we are happy to side with top-weight Monsieur Joe.
