Verdict

Modest fare but the two who stand out on recent form are THE GREY WOLF and Clipsham Gold, separated by a head when clashing at Doncaster last month. The Easterby gelding has since finished a respectable Catterick fourth and is actually 4lb better off with his Town Moor victim here. Clipsham Gold has since posted a fair fifth of 13 at Yarmouth and should appreciate this return to the forecast sounder surface. There could well be little between the pair once again. Twilight Tone is one for the shortlist too but is unpredictable, although he has trip and ground to suit and would be dangerous if on a going day. A win and sixth of six on his last two starts are indicative of how hard he is to get a handle on. Lincoln Pride is another with conditions to suit and would also be of interest if putting his best foot forward.
