The first race on the card is quite a tricky little handicap but we feel BEAT THE BELL can outpoint Lucky Redback and Dancing Maite. Jamie Osborne's son of Beat All has been in good form of late wining two of his four starts and running nicely in the other two. On his seasonal reappearance he was beaten by the Hannon horse who he again faces today. However we are confident he can turn around the defeat on 12 lbs better terms. The Hannon horse won't be far behind the selection as he should also improve for the return to grass. Furthermore Pat Dobbs' mount is also a course and distance winner with is always a huge plus and the Hannon team remain in good heart. Dancing Maite was second in last year's event to run away winner Peter Island and again runs today. He was unlucky to bump into such a well handicapped horse that day and Jimmy Quinn's charge is sure to be more competitive in this year's event. There are one or two horses coming back from winter breaks but they should be monitored in the betting. These include Rowayton who Frankie Dettori rides and Hi Shinko who has gone well fresh before but with Beat The Bell having a fitness edge we will return to him.
