Verdict
A tricky-looking contest to end proceedings. The handicapper has given a real chance to Dr Red Eye who is 10lb lower than for his last victory, though that was more than a year ago. Deep Blue Sea is inconsistent but should be thereabouts if on a going day. Pharmaceutical has a similar profile so is another to consider but Shady Mccoy came up short on his hat-trick bid at Salisbury and his stable has been struggling for winners lately. MEZZOTINT's last win came over this course and distance almost two years ago and a return to familiar territory might benefit Stuart Williams' charge, who has form in much better races than this off higher marks. He's preferred to Fever Few and the out-of-sorts Surewecan.
