In depth

Verdict

Danawi is the form pick over Ocean Sunrise and Nyarhini, with newcomer Trimlestown worth a mention as well. Danawi is out to get the losses back after so nearly landing a gamble at Windsor last week. Backed down to 5-2, he had to do it the hard way from stall 16 but was only just denied in a three-way photo. On breeding he should really want further, but having made his debut at Newbury over seven furlongs, he showed that a drop back in trip was what was needed at the Berkshire track, and this stiff five on rain-softened ground will suit him admirably. Ocean Sunrise was third at Redcar last time and is expected to appreciate this softer surface, while the well-bred Nyarhini, a half-sister to Rebecca Sharp, shaped well on her Newmarket bow but will surely need further. Henry Candy's debutantes are always worth noting, so any support for Trimlestown should be heeded, but Danawi has shown enough to warrant support and can pay to follow.
