Verdict
Red Carnation is a horse to follow this year and he can land this Group 3 contest, the card's feature, and provide Kieren Fallon with his third win of the day. Smart enough to be second in the Middle Park Stakes as a two-year-old, he disappointed last year - despite finishing fifth in the 2,000 Guineas - but with an undescended testicle now having been corrected, he can land this and then go on to even better things. He also finished second in this race last year. Red Carpet receives weight from each of his opponents, including 6lbs from the smart Tillerman. He's a course and distance winner but might find life tough on his first run of the year. Millennium Force has to be respected following his Group 3 win in Ireland while Gateman, himself a Group 3 winner and closely weighted with Millennium Force on a piece of form through One Won One, might not quite be sharp enough first time up.
