In depth
Verdict
This can be quickly narrowed down to two or three in The Last Cast, Impish Jude and Kadount, with the latter getting the vote. Alan King's yard continue to go well and this five-year-old gelding is open to plenty of improvement, having run only four times in public. After joining King from France, the two most recent runs for the Our Account gelding have been when winning similar contests at Haydock and Plumpton during the past six weeks. Eased down to score last time out, and a winner on good to soft, he looks to have plenty going for him and can land the spoils here. Top weight The Last Cast has to give the selection 3lb here and will certainly be involved in the shake-up. The winner of his last three starts, the Hughie Morrison-trained gelding has not been out since scoring at Cheltenham on New Year's Day, but presumably is over whatever problems have beset him since. With some good form at this trip he is one for the short-list, but he has never won on ground faster than soft and if the rains do not reach the track then he might not have quite enough cut to be seen to best effect. Of the remainder Impish Jude has gone well in defeat here in the past and comes here in good form, but he has a recent hike up the weights to defy and does not look to have the scope of the selection, so a place may be the best he can attain, while feather weight Physical Graffiti is another with frame claims. The selection is Kadount to score again.
