In depth

Verdict

Patsy's Double is an infrequent winner for one of his ability but is a thoroughly genuine and consistent sort at this level and is the TEAMtalk selection to gain an overdue success. Michael Blanshard's charge has finished runner-up on no less than six times during the current campaign including last time out when narrowly denied in a Group 3 at Tipperary. This bold front runner will relish these conditions and will take plenty of pegging back at the weights. Granny's Pet possesses a smart turn of foot and will enjoy the likely strong pace but may struggle to concede 9lb to the selection while Loveleaves has been absent since breaking blood vessels when disappointing at Epsom in June. Welsh Emperor will appreciate the testing ground but has plenty to find on official BHB handicap ratings.
