Verdict

Silly Wupple has won his last two starts in good fashion but Michael Scudamore's gelding faces no easy task giving weight away all round here and preference is for LYES GREEN, who gets the vote ahead of Nom de Guerre. Ben De Haan's gelding has run creditably in both starts over fences this season, latterly when chasing home Aimigayle at Kempton last month, and he should be thereabouts again if able to reproduce that form. Chris Bealby's Dream Garden is less exposed than his rivals after just four career starts and the Uttoxeter winner is better than he showed in a stronger contest than this at Cheltenham last time. Alan King's Irish import Minella Four Star ran better here last time than he had done on his first start for new connections and he has to be considered along with Charlie Mann's Fair Point, who may do better now sent chasing. The vote in a decent contest though goes to Oliver Sherwood's Lyes Green who was easily the pick of these over hurdles and made a pleasing start to his chasing career behind Scots Dragoon at Huntingdon prior to being good value for his success at Hereford earlier this month; he looks the one they all have to beat.
