Verdict

Those with solid form in the book don't seem to set too demanding a standard and TOUCAN TANGO is preferred on his handicap bow for the Peter Chapple-Hyam team. He showed little on two of his three juvenile outings but wasn't disgraced in a good Newbury maiden won by Baptist when seemingly unfancied. Richard Hughes is an interesting booking for the yard and this looks a good starting point for the new campaign. Soldiers Point failed to fire in an above average Wolverhampton handicap but was well backed and it will be interesting to see if the money comes again. Newmarket third May Be Some Time and dual winner Beach Babe look best of those with better form figures in front of their name.
