Verdict
ANCIENT SPIRIT was conceding Bowerman 3lb when beating him a length in a Curragh Listed contest then led for a long way until passed by the very progressive Patrick Sarsfield in a Group 3 over 1m1f here next time. He can get back to winning ways though the three-year-old filly Etneya created a very good impression when landing a Curragh maiden from a subsequent winner and her allowance should see her get competitive. Fiscal Rules, just beaten by Wichita at the Curragh in August, is obviously well regarded as he's contested the 2000 Guineas and Derby on the same track in his only starts this season and has by no means disgraced in either. Royal Dornoch beat Kameko in the Royal Lodge in September and is another who has competed at the highest level this campaign though has been well beaten.
