Verdict

Aidan O'Brien had seven engaged at the early stage and relies on Expedition and Sir John Hawkins. The former took a long time to warm to his task when successful at Limerick in May and will improve though the form hasn't worked out as well as expected. Sir John Hawkins made a successful start at the Curragh and though beaten twice subsequently both runs have been at Group 2 level and this represents a drop in grade. He'll be a threat but those who witnessed the performance of EXOGENESIS here three weeks ago won't want to miss him this time as he was an impressive winner from Friendship with the remainder well beaten. Home School and Simple Love have both shown themselves capable of going well at this level and make this an interesting contest.
