Verdict
DOUVAN remains unbeaten in eleven starts since joining Willie Mullins having scored over hurdles on his second start in France. He had the very smart Sizing John seven lengths behind when landing the Arkle in March and the latter has finished behind him on no less than five other occasions. He returned to action with yet another majestic display in the Grade 2 Hilly Way at Cork and there will be some shock waves if he's beaten though stable companion Black Hercules would be a worthy substitute if something went wrong. He won the JTT at Cheltenham and though well beaten behind Djakadam in the John Durkan that wasn't his form. Simply Ned's best run to date came when beaten a length by Flemenstar in this a year ago but the opposition today is very much tougher while Alisier D'Irlande finished tailed off behind the selection in the Maghull at Aintree and has questions to answer after a couple of lack-lustre displays.
