Verdict
FASTORSLOW was beaten 21 lengths being Galopin Des Champs at Punchestown just over a year ago but has progressed so fast he's beaten the subsequent Cheltenham Gold Cup winner the last twice they have met. He's still rated 10lb below Willie Mullins' charge but probably still has more improvement in him and gets the nod to see him off again. Gerri Colombe has won five of his six starts over fences, three of them in Grade 1's, and was beaten a short-head in the other. There's no reason why he shouldn't make further progress so is greatly respected despite having only a neck to spare over Envoi Allen in a Down Royal Grade 1 last time with Conflated, who won this last year, back in third. A Plus Tard won this in 2020 and the Cheltenham Gold Cup last year but has struggled in his three subsequent races. Neither Appreciate It nor I Am Maximum are out of this.
