Verdict
Carrig Cathal has been unable to cope with a step-up in class after a very easy victory in a Ballinrobe handicap but this should be his level. COOL COLONNADE made a successful start over fences at Clonmel where he jumped well and looked a natural. He faces tougher opposition here but looks one to follow. Or Jaune De Somoza made a winning chasing debut at Fairyhouse and has taken on stronger opposition in his next two starts so should be in contention while Plinth, nine times a winner over hurdles, looked a smart novice chaser at Kilbeggan last month before finding Grade 3 over the minimum trip too much for him back over timber at Tipperary.
