In depth

Verdict

Dual winner and Group 3-placed Pondus has joined Joseph O'Brien from James Fanshawe and looks certain to win races this campaign. Oriental Eagle, a Group 2 winner in Germany, has been beaten a long way in both starts for Emmet Mullins though he's led for a long way over longer trips, including at Leopardstown on Sunday, and can do much better. SIMSIR gets the nod as he landed a Meydan handicap in February and has only had six starts so there should be more to come. Bold Approach reappeared with a very good run in a Listed race at Navan last week and will be ready for this but the unbeaten Long Arm faces much stiffer opposition than he has at Gowran and Dundalk.
