In depth

Verdict

BEART had shown virtually nothing before his surprise success at Dundalk a couple of weeks ago and should improve enough to defy a 6lb rise in a race that may not take too much winning. Measured Approval has the best form on turf and ran well over the C&D on ground with plenty of give in September. He's an obvious threat if fit enough while Erins Gal had some decent form in sprints last season despite not winning. Diamond Fire has been beaten regularly in poor events at Wolverhampton but at least is fit enough though a bigger threat could emerge in the shape of Landsdowne, who returned to action in this race a year ago with a very good run behind Mrs Batt.
