In depth

Verdict

Spot The Subbie was very disappointing last time out so is reluctantly passed over in favour of Reeling N' Rocking, with Binnion Bay and Final Tune on the shortlist. Barry Hills' four-year-old may be best over seven furlongs, however the fact that he returns to the racecourse over this trip after four months off hints that his trainer deems stamina not to be an issue. A winner when last seen, he seems adaptable in terms of tactics and should be capable of continuing his trainer's good start to the year. Final Tune is very consistent but accordingly looks on a stiff enough mark now, so of more interest for win purposes may be recent winner Binnion Bay who won in good fashion last time out and should go well despite a 6lb penalty. Northern Desert bounced back to form last time out but is not guaranteed to reproduce that effort, whilst Spot The Subbie could now be in the grip of the handicapper although he cannot be ruled out for one poor run. All in all this looks a trappy contest, but we will return to Reeling N' Rocking as the selection.
