Verdict

Speak The Truth won nicely last time and is well-treated at these weights but his best trip looks to be five furlongs and he is passed over here in favour of top-weight DON PELE. Of the two that he saddles, the selection looks to be the pick of Ron Harris' pair. Joe Fanning has ridden the horse twice to victory (once in this grade) and with a profitable strike-rate in 2009 as a combination they need taking seriously. Similarly Chris Catlin has a good strike-rate for the yard so it would be unwise to rule out Joss Stick despite the gelding having a bit to find at the weights. Non Sucre drops in class but recent efforts in handicap company have been disappointing, Young Ivanhoe ran a better race in defeat last time but this course and distance winner is only rated 44, whilst the same applies to Easy Wonder. Brighton selling races seem to be the best place to catch the decidedly modest Mannello and so it is Don Pele who can hit the back of the net.
