In depth

Verdict

Financial Times is taken to score in this maiden with Serevi and Best Double rated as the main dangers. The selection made a really pleasing debut at Newbury when a good second behind Perfect Choice. He was beaten by inexperience that day as he ran a little green but he showed plenty of ability and he sets the standard for the rest here. Serevi is a lightly-raced colt from the Jeremy Noseda yard and he has shown enough in his three starts to date to make him interesting today. The booking of Jamie Spencer is a big plus but he is not ideally drawn and for that reason we will take him on. Best Double has got a small race in him but he is proving frustrating to follow and he finished second again on Monday at Wolverhampton behind Sir Douglas. Andrew Balding's Cool Sting is another worth noting in the market, but for the winner we are happy to return to Financial Times.
