Verdict

Despite being 4lbs worse off with Jachol for around a couple of lengths deficit last time, LARGEM is given the vote to confirm those placings given that he has a much better draw as the curtain falls on the card. John Jenkins has enjoyed a good month or so with his runners and Largem was part of that upturn in fortunes when scoring over this trip at Wolverhampton on his handicap debut. A 6lb rise will make it tougher, and he does need to prove himself over this sharper track and on the faster surface, so this is far from a done deal. Jachol should get closer, but he is widest of all in stall 14 and not easy to win with either, so will take him on again. Arlene Phillips may have gained some confidence for a Ffos Las success, but this longer trip may stretch her stamina beyond its limits, especially from 3lbs higher. Saute is now 5lbs better off with the selection for finishing a further half-length away in third at Wolverhampton and given that Walter Swinburn's charge has a good draw here he may be the one to give the pick the most to do. Peintre D'Argent looks a reasonable sort who would not look out of place involved in the finish, but Largem is the one for us.
