We will take a chance on a form revival for Captain Jacksparra and this one is selected ahead of Nadawat and Averticus. Kevin Ryan's charge has gone off the boil in recent outings but has strong claims on early season form. He beat Vitznau here in May and also chased home the decent Docofthebay at Thirsk. A repeat of either of those efforts could be good enough today. Nadawat was very impressive when winning here in early August and wasn't beaten far in a better race than this last time out. She still looks on decent mark and will be a tough nut to crack. Averticus returns from a bit of a summer break having put in some decent efforts in the spring. The yard conrinues in great form and so he has to be rated a big threat. Abunai would also have claims on last season's form, but if Captainjacksparra can return to his best he looks the one to beat.
