Verdict

Natalie Jane has leading claims on her past Turf form and should account for Wotchalike, Dunmore Derry who steps up in trip and Zabeel Palace who has yet to impress. Today's feature race at the Surrey track should not take much winning, and Natalie Jane will take some stopping. Gerard Butler's filly finished third in Newmarket's Zetland Stakes after opening her account in testing ground at Nottingham in the autumn and was sent over to Aquaduct to contest a Grade 2 contest at the end of November. She only beat one home that day after being taken off her feet under the fast conditions, and although her ability to act here has to be taken on trust, we are prepared to take the gamble against this less exalted company. Wotchalike was behind her at Newmarket and did not run too badly in a nursery here last time, so should be there or thereabouts without being good enough to turn the tables. Zabeel Palace has been very disappointing so far and returns from a break, while Dunmore Derry is upped in trip after beating little at Southwell. Union Jack Jackson probably has more ability than he has shown up to now, and needs plenty of driving to go about his business, while All A Dream makes no appeal at all. So, despite topweight, Natalie Jane sets the standard.
