    Verdict

Scarrattoo is the tentative choice in this Claiming Stakes with Mr Spliffy and Boavista nominated as the two that will give our selection the most to do. Scarrottoo hails from the shrewd Stuart Williams yard and was given a tender ride when eighth behind Nearly A Fool over 7 furlongs last time. He has the useful claimer Brian Reilly in the plate and on the pick of his form has obvious claims. Confidence for this gelding would be fuelled further if he is supported in the market, although he is not ideally drawn in stall 13. Mr Spliffy won well last time when defeating Cark on this track, but that was over 5 furlongs and he has never won over 6 furlongs so he looks opposable. Boavista was running consistently well before being given a break and she is another from a yard worthy of plenty of respect at this track, but she may just need this her first run since October. Dunedin Rascal is another that could go well, although he has been out of form lately, so we are happy to stick with Scarrottoo.
